Len: Her Birthday, Her Hair, Her Sale
Hi Friends,
To celebrate it we’re having a 15% off special on all of Len’s favourite products for her birthday week starting 29th July – 10th August 2013.
What is your hair texture? My hair is very kinky throughout, with the centre being most kinky. It probably equates to type 4c based on the hair typing chart.
What is your hair porosity? My hair’s porosity is low. (Moisturising tends to be a lot of work)
What are your favourite hair styles? When it comes to hairstyles, I play it really safe. In other words, I’m pretty boring and I wear my hair in two strand twists 90% of the time (My pictures are showing the other 10%). That’s partly because its quick to comb and i’m too lazy to try out new styles.
Is it a lot of work to maintain your natural hair? It definitely takes a lot more time to maintain my hair now that I’ve allowed it to grow out but its not at all difficult because I have a routine.
What are your all time favourite products to you use to “do” your hair and why? Just a quick disclaimer, I’m not a product junkie, but I do like to use different styling products depending on what type of look I’m trying to achieve. I use the Hibiscus Nectar Shampoo from Brown Butter Beauty (BBB). I like how it cleanses my hair and it doesn’t leave my hair feeling stripped and dry. I then follow that up with either Babassu Deep Conditioner (BBB) or Chocolate Hair Smoothie from Pura Body Naturals. These deep conditioners are amazing they leave my hair feeling soft, silky and extremely moisturised. (I tend to use the Chocolate deep condish. when I’ve had my hair in a twist out and I feel like I might have major detangling issues). The Red Tea Satin Daily Moisturiser from HairVeda is an amazing moisturiser. It really puts in moisture and makes my hair feel soft and manageable. This is important as I have (self diagnosed) Chronic Dry Hair. For my stylers I use the Isha Hair Cream from the Claudies hair line and Curlaide moisture butter from Camille Rose Naturals. These products help to tame my frizz and make my twists look orderly ( and give me amazing twistouts afterwards). I use coconot oil for sealing my hair (and on my skin) and castor oil around my edges and other thinning areas.
Is there anything you’ve learnt about natural beauty that you find important to share with others? Be comfortable with yourself and what you’ve been given. When you are, you’ll start thinking about how to enhance your beauty versus how to mask and change it.
