Did you know that in 2015, 46,000 tonnes of garbage was collected in the BVI. That’s an average of 126 tonnes of garbage a day! With an average population of 30,000, that means each person disposes approx. 9 lbs (4kg) of garbage daily. What a waste!!
It is believed that about 12% of our waste stream is composed of glass, which sucks for our incinerator as it can severely impair its functioning. Fortunately, glass is easily recycled and can be completely removed from our waste stream, and we want to help make this a reality.
Our Sageroots glass recycling loyalty programme is finally here and we’re super excited to share it with you! Here’s how it works:
- Get your free loyalty card! (Stop by Clover’s in Road Town to get one).
- Purchase Sageroots products.
- Return empty Sageroots glass containers to Clover’s in exchange for a stamp on your card. (1 container = 1 stamp)
- After 12 stamps have been earned, trade in your card for a 10% discount on your next Sageroots purchase.
