Flashback to Pam’s Henna Journey

Hi Friends!
Check out the picture diary of Pam’s henna treatments (before the locs (~2008).)
I mixed 300 grams of henna from HennaSooq with a little bit of apple cider vinegar and warm water. I allowed the mixture to sit covered for 4 hours and then I added honey, conditioner, olive oil along with rosemary and peppermint essential oils for scent.

I washed my hair using baking soda and conditioner, sectioned hair in 3 and wrapped a turban over my hair to remove excess water.

I applied the henna to my hair starting from the bottom up in small sections just like you would a relaxer but I put it on my scalp too. I gathered my hair to the crown of my head and covered. Took a bath and went to bed for about 5 hours.

I rinsed my hair in a basin by pouring water from a container on my hair then under the faucet until the water was slight orangeish. I then deep conditioned my hair and went under a dryer for 30 mins of medium heat. Rinsed in the shower and after that I applied a few products and bunned.

My Thoughts: I love it and will do it at least once per month (maybe every 3 weeks).
Added conditioner, honey, aloe vera, evoo, rosemary and peppermint oils and mixed in smoothly.

Some of the diluted Apple Cider Vinegar that I added to the mixture to allow the dye to release.

Dye release started after mixing. I let it sit for four more hours.
Clean, damp hair. I washed with baking soda and conditioner

Applying the mixture to my hair..its getting heavy.
Oops…I missed  section!

Remains. Going to freeze it to make a gloss or something.
